Change in Direction, in Backswing Blends Into Downswing

Up to this point we have been concerned only with the backswing. In building a sound style it is important that the foundation should be good, for it is far easier to continue in the right way from a good start than to make corrections after the action has be-come quite rapid. The backswing must consistently bring the player to a good position at the top if his performance is to have any semblance of regularity.

Now we come to the place where the swing changes direction, one of the truly critical points of the operation. Once one gets safely past this point the rest is comparatively easy. But few players there are who can subdue their natural impulses at this point sufficiently to make the start downward as it should be made.
